Granting Some Grace

When someone wired to achieve downshifts into neutral, it feels strange. The idleness can feel like failure — as if motion itself was the proof of worth. But lately, I’ve been reminded by those close to me, that grace can be a system too — one that restores the operator behind the operation.
I’ve spent my career building systems that care back™, designing frameworks that support individuals, teams, organizations, and growth. Like many driven leaders, I’ve poured energy into creating clarity and opportunity for others, often at the expense of my own care.
What I’m learning is that grace isn’t the absence of progress — it’s what makes progress sustainable. It’s the structure that allows space to breathe, recover, and realign before building again. And if we don’t model that for ourselves, the people who rely on us will never feel permission to pause either.

Sometimes, the hardest system to build is the one that cares for you.
Build your own system of grace.
Thanks,
Rodney
