Moments of Kindness

Throughout my search, I’ve been reconnecting with friends, colleagues, and former associates — each conversation a chance to learn, share perspective, and maybe open a new path forward.
But sometimes, the purpose of a conversation shifts. That happened recently with my fellow Humane Society board member, Kurt Bouley. What began as a professional check-in turned into a deeper exchange about life’s challenges — met with empathy, perspective, and genuine care. It reminded me that kindness, freely given, can change the tone of a day.
That same lesson showed up again in a discussion with Clint Overton about his company, Boardroom Bullpen. Clint kindly — and directly — pointed out that my target industries and company types were still too broad. And he was right. It was a simple moment of truth, shared with generosity, that helped me sharpen my focus.
Both conversations reinforced something I keep coming back to: kindness and candor aren’t opposites — they’re partners. One gives you the space to reflect; the other pushes you to grow.
As I look back on the week, I realize those moments weren’t isolated. They were part of a quiet pattern — small acts of empathy, honesty, and generosity that kept me grounded and reminded me how much goodness still finds its way into what can feel like a solitary process.
I’m continuing to explore operational leadership roles where I can help hyper-growth and PE-backed companies scale with confidence — particularly across the mid-market HealthTech, Mechanical Services & MEP, and Retail eCommerce sectors. Along the way, I’m always open to compare notes, share insights, or simply be helpful through my network.
